Treasurer

Purpose

The Treasurer oversees the financial health of the kindergarten, ensuring responsible management of the budget and funds. This role involves monitoring income and expenses, maintaining accurate financial records and providing clear financial reporting to the Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Approved Provider and Person with Management and Control of a service

  • Attend Committee meetings

  • Signatory to bank accounts 

  • Liaise closely with Bookkeeper, Grants officer, President and Director

  • Maintain accurate accounts and books

  • Present financial reports at committee meeting 

  • Payment of accounts and invoices for service

  • Approve purchases/costs/expenditure/staff wages etc

  • Deal with financial correspondence from DET, ACNC etc

  • Prepare Financial Report for AGM 

  • Organise end of financial year audits

  • Work with President, offsite pay system (if any) and Committee members to plan budgets for the Association

  • Fiscal management of kinder funds

  • Voting rights on Committee

  • Financial background

  • Report writing

  • Strong verbal and written communication 

  • Organisation and time management 

  • Ability to develop rapport with volunteers and government agencies

  • Ability to provide calculated opinion in group discussions at committee meetings

  • Considerate of others and/or conflicting ideas and opinions

  • Maintain confidentiality

This position requires a Volunteer Working with Children's Check (WWC) and will be subject to a National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.
