Social Rep

Purpose

The Social Representative helps build a strong and connected kindergarten community by organising fun and inclusive events that bring families together. This role fosters friendships, strengthens parent engagement and creates memorable experiences that make Hampton Community Kindergarten a welcoming and supportive place for all.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising Sub-committee

  • Social Rep for each Kinder group, Koalas (2) and Echidnas (2)

  • Attend monthly Committee meetings 

  • Primary role to facilitate events/activities/parent meet ups e.g. Park catch-ups, parents dinners aiming for at least one social gathering per term.

  • Admin for WhatsApp parents chat (1 x Koala group and 1 x Echidna) including set-up and adding new families 

  • Build community feeling - welcome new families

  • Assist with promoting fundraising activities

  • Provide a report to the Committee at monthly meeting on social activities

  • Required to work with a budget when purchasing items for social events 

  • Voting rights on the Committee

  • Strong Interpersonal skills

  • Organisation and time management 

  • Considerate of others and/or conflicting ideas and opinions

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to build rapport and procure vendors

This position requires a Volunteer Working with Children's Check (WWC) and will be subject to a National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.
