President
Purpose
The President provides leadership and oversight to ensure the effective management of the kindergarten. The President guides the Committee, upholds the kindergarten’s values and ensures the service operates smoothly and successfully.
Responsibilities

Approved Provider and Person with Management and Control of a service

Ensure all statutory and legal requirements are met

Signatory to bank accounts

Chair monthly Committee meetings
-
Set the agenda for the committee meeting in consultation with the secretary
-
Coordinate AGM and assist in the preparation of the agenda, reports and welcome packs for the next committee
-
Future Planning
-
Represent the association externally
-
Meet with DET, Bayside City council, ELAA and other community organisations as required and attend quarterly meetings with Government stakeholders as required
-
Take part in dispute resolution
-
Formulate goals and work towards achieving those goals (QIP)
-
Delegate tasks to Committee Members and Director
-
Assist other committee members with tasks

Work with the Treasurer and Grants Officer to apply for any relevant grants
-
Manage the recruitment of new staff Eg. nominated supervisor, educators, administration staff

Undertake professional development related to the role as required
-
Undertake performance appraisals of Director, Bookkeeper and other Administration function
-
Voting rights on the Committee

Required to review and approve financial information and budgeting provided by the Treasurer and Bookkeeper

This position requires a Volunteer Working with Children's Check (WWC) and will be subject to a National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.
