Grants Officer

Purpose

The Grants Officer plays a vital role in supporting the kindergarten’s growth by identifying funding opportunities and preparing successful grant applications. This role helps secure financial support for programs, resources and improvements that enhance the learning environment for children.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Committee meetings

  • Work closely with the Treasurer, President and Bookkeeper 

  • Subscribe to Early years and community Grant newsletter i.e. DET, Bayside and others 

  • Apply for any relevant grants

  • Follow up on grant applications

  • Liaise with President and Director regarding key strategic projects that require grant funding 

  • Organise the distribution of grant funds into HCK bank accounts

  • Voting rights on Committee

Knowledge/Skills/Attributes

  • Interest in making a difference within the community

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Organisation and time management 

  • Ability to understand legal jargon and application processes

  • Considerate of others and/or conflicting ideas and opinions

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to build rapport and procure vendors

  •  Ability to work with COM to develop business cases to achieve funding success

  • Ability to liaise and negotiate with state government and local government representatives

This position requires a Volunteer Working with Children's Check (WWC) and will be subject to a National Police Criminal History Check prior to appointment.
