Committee of Management
Hampton Community Kindergarten Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation and is managed by a Committee of Management (COM) of parents who are elected to hold voluntary positions on the Committee of Management for one year. The committee is elected each year at the Kindergarten’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in early November each year. The executive members of the COM are responsible for and hold the Management Control of the Kindergarten, including the recruitment, development, and support of staff.
The Executive are also the nominated heads to the three levels of Government who legislate, fund, and support the Early Childhood Education sector in Australia.
The Committee of Management assists the Director, Teachers and Educators in achieving the goals and the governance of the kinder through helping to maintain the building and grounds, ensuring policies are valid and incorporated into daily practice, coordinating new enrolments and coordinating kinder social events.
Being a part of the Committee of Management is a fantastic opportunity to have insight and a voice into the running the kindergarten and to get to know other families in the community. The COM meet monthly on the first Tuesday of the months for approximately 1-1.5 hours in the evening.
